Spent this week just across the looong bridge to New Orleans at Fairview-Riverside State Park. Stayed here most of the week working with clients and getting caught up on maintenance... replaced more exterior molding, touched up some seals, and patched a hole underneath Cammy. Oil change and new tires on front of truck as well. Greasing hitch this morning. Cait attacked grime buildup on kitchen vent. Rained heavily Wednesday. We did make time for a few geocaches and hikes in the park taking in the tall trees and bogs along the way. Great Egrets, Carolina Wrens and Red-bellied Woodpeckers kept us company. Studied up on Texas BBQ techniques and recipes. Spent Friday in New Orleans. Took streetcar to St. Louis Cemetery #3. Walked City Park to the ‘dueling oaks’. Ate po-boys and gumbo for lunch. Got drinks in the French Quarter, ate oysters, and saw dueling pianos. Took a haunted historical walking tour. Fun day. Taking our time to get packed up today. We’ll take today and tomorrow to get to Fredericksburg, Texas.
