At Orbitist, it has always been our goal to help people understand and explore the world around them. This includes enabling others to share that knowledge and create a continuous cycle of learning.
That's why our ed-tech coordinator, Caitlin Gunner, created a series of maps for Spanish teachers.
Using a variety of multimedia, these maps pinpoint cultural and historical features from different Spanish-speaking countries, including architectural feats, traditional dances, tipping customs, quinceañera practices, among others. And each map utilizes Spanish phrases with English translations to bridge the gap between languages.
As each lesson is its own map, it's easy for teachers to highlight country location and develop geographical understanding. Extra teaching resources are available in the map descriptions, too.
These free maps are available here and can be accessed from any device. Feel free to try them out in your own classroom and share with other educators!
